I use to say to my husband that they are so arrogant, I'm surprised they aren't calling themselves the twelve apostles. Doesn't surprise me. You have Mark, Stephen, Samuel, David ect,,, Now they will be picking their candidates on first name basis to match the names of the apostles as well. And that will be the only credentials required. Oh, and that they can count up to twelve!

2014 AGM announcement rumour
by yadda yadda 2 infrom barbara anderson, former watchtower headquarters researcher and writer, on another recent thread:.
it is expected that at the 2014 annual meeting, usually held the first saturday in october, will serve watchtower leaders well to cover-up all the 100-years of prophetic nonsense.
rumor has it they are going to celebrate their 100-years of announcing the kingdom in an adroit way by featuring a move of "great" significance to do with the expansion of the governing body to an "apostolic" 12 or some other fantasy idea.. .

I am sooo screwed
by Yondaime inso last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.
she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.
what do i do?!!!!!.

Tell them since their faithful and discreet slave is invisible like jesus ruling since 1914, then you want your judicial committee to be invisible as well. What? That's impossible? Or don't you believe my judicial committee can be invisible? Get offended and hurt and tell them your stumbled. Why is it ok to believe their twist on the scriptures but not the other way around? When you go to miss meetings then tell them you were there every week, invisibly. Then puke on their shoes invisibley.

Jehovah's Witness commercial?
by nicki23 inthis is my first post although i have been reading on this board for over a year now.
i just had to post because i saw the most unbelievable thing the other night - a commercial for jehovah's witnesses.
a couple nights ago i couldn't sleep and i turned on the tv.

A few years back we had seen a commercial where two guys meet in a park and do a drug deal. It was so lame for the two guys were clean cut and well dressed in the video. It finishes with the big reference bible and scripture in Deut 6:6,7 about inculcating the word day and night.

Cable vs the Antenae tower
by Quarterback ini kind of wanted to know if some have made this transition from escaping the satellite/cable monopoly to the large antenaes that require no monthly bills.
does it work?
is there a good quality such as hi def?

We live in southern Ontario and we have always had antennaes. This last antennae is screwed into the chimmney, yeah, no more getting me to go outside and wait to be yelled at as I am turning it around until the picture comes in.LOL. Hated when the converter box would burn out or the antennae wouldn't turn anymore and one of you have to go outside and turn it. Guess who had to go outside and turn the stupid thing. He gets really excited when a pic comes in for I have to be real quick in stopping it. Didn't really care to change the channel for you just knew you would have to go outside again. I would usually high tale it upstairs to bed before the ending of a show. We live out in the country and are surrounded by a forest. Reception can be a problem and then in the winter more so. We get thirteen channels and no bills.

Why do you come here?
by love2Bworldly ini come here to learn, but i also come here because it feels like a private club and i'm privy to be a member of the "in" crowd.
it's a great place to socialize.
does anyone else feel that they are a member of a special "club" when they come here, that only some people in this world will understand the jw world?.

It's like confirmation(making sure of what you want) to never go back. Remember when you joined the ministry school, you had to go talk to an elder for confirmation? And he said your in and will sign you up? Then, you needed confirmation to get baptized so you had to answer over one hundred questions and then you were confirmed and got baptized? Then, you had to be confirmed when you went to auxillary pioneer and when we wanted to pioneer, my husband and I had to sit through three hours of three elders, two of which tried to turn us off from pioneering and one elder fighting on our behalf by telling us to just say yes and take it up the ass, then we were allowed to pioneer. Same with working at the bethel farm. Well, now we use this sight as our confirmation to never ever ever get sucked into any other religion especially this cult ever again! Thank god for this site, JWFacts and JWSurvey. This is why we come here, to reconfirm our confirmation of never going back and to show others
I wish we would have come here first before joining this cult for I might have read it a few times and that would have been the end of it instead of losing everything over night and having no reason or basis for our dismissal. All because we stopped going, period. Years and money gone down the toilet but this evil cult has made us more aware of what's lurking in our world around us. For that I guess I am grateful.

Three Sunday speakers in a row telling the congregation that Jesus is mediator for ALL mankind is new. Some of the members from our former hall have mentioned this and wonder if society is quietly putting that "nu-lite" in so when someone notices they can say it's always been that way. I called the bethel to see if that was a new doctrinal change and they said no and then he asked what congregation and what speaker so I told them. Now I am going to call again so they can keep saying no until they have to wonder it themselves or at least wonder why their speakers keep making this announcement and without their eight golden calves approval.

Any Senior Citizens, Retirees here?
by AlwaysBusy inhowdy....well, what do you think?
of everything?
is it all crazy?

Not seniors, but have been retired since forty-five and are now going on fifty-four. Life is good! I would have to say we are more busy than when we had our plant. At least we are doing what we want to do. And we are very thankful for OHIP here in Ontario. I find I am taking more trips to the doctors but so glad that we aren't billed for it. My heart goes out to those in the States where they have to pay literally an arm and a leg for there health costs. It's just so unfair.

Are we starting to treat DF people differently?
by Quarterback insome may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.
